I am convinced now that travelling, going out of town or just being away from your usual routine could give you a different perspective.
I spent my holy week vacation in Sitges, Barcelona.

Sitges is one of the most charming, vibrant and gay friendly town in Spain, located in the southwest of Barcelona. From Barcelona Sants subway station (Line 1 & 3), I took another train (R2) to get to Sitges. The train ride was only 35 minutes.

It was my first time to be in the town and I absolutely loved it! I stayed for 3 days in a classy, clean and cozy apartment, with an amiable gay host. It was also my first time to book a place at Airbnb and I was just so glad with my experience.

I woke up early in the morning and ate my breakfast with this amazing view, overlooking the ocean. It was so quiet and peaceful; I savoured every minute of solitariness.

For two days, I headed to the beach before noon, layed my mat and practiced yoga. I spent my daytime reading, eating and roaming around the small town. I would come back to the apartment just before the dark sets in.
On my last night, my host invited me to a party nearby together with his partner. Being a home buddy and lazy cat that I was, I opted to just stay indoor. I was already prepared to sleep at 10 in the evening. Ironically, while I was browsing the internet, I saw an interesting chick flick to watch, How To Be Single.

One thing I’ve realized is that, women tend to lose their identity whenever an ex-boyfriend starts to appear again, an old date shows up or a new guy comes to picture. It’s like we’re back on our old selves-- vulnerable, weak, and suddenly feeling in-love again. The truth is, we never want to come back to a painful phase again. Sometime in our lives, we just needed to be alone; free from any relationship or dating. We just have to stand on our own and keep moving forward.

I’m going back to Madrid feeling refreshed and restful.
